Gold Creek Pond; a Love Story

When I first met Gold Creek Pond some time around 2018, I absolutely fell in love. An accessible, gorgeous hike an easy drive from Seattle, with charming Pass Life nearby for apres hike drinks and eats. What more do you need. Then in 2025, the state closed Gold Creek Pond for, wait for it, TEN YEARS (approximately) for a restoration project. I was heartbroken. The state threw us a bone though, and GCP is now open November through April for winter fun. How badly I've wanted to photograph a session here, but it's not THAT accessible in the winter, as roads can be dicey, and the parking lot is closed creating a .6 mile walk from the road to the trailhead. It takes a motivated subject to make it happen. Enter Linds & Jesse.

Linds and Jesse traveled from Florida to get married at the King County Courthouse. To commemorate their wedding day, they chose to capture their love on a quintessential PNW day - 39 degrees and rain, snow on the ground (slush, if you will). Frozen feet and fingers, they soldiered through, I think geniunely bouyed by the serene jaw-dropping beauty of Gold Creek Pond and the warmth of their newly sealed love story.

Why Gold Creek Pond Is Perfect for Elopements

Gold Creek Pond is one of the most accessible mountain locations near Seattle, but it still feels incredibly wild and peaceful.

Just a short walk from the trailhead, couples can stand beside an alpine lake with sweeping views of the Cascades, making it a perfect location for intimate elopements and adventure wedding portraits.

Whether the day brings sunshine, fog, snow, or rain, the scenery always delivers something magical.

And sometimes the rain makes it even better.
